Mercyhealth seeks Anatomic and Clinical Pathologists for its two hospitals in Rockford, Illinois.
Our modern anatomic pathology department includes a team of certified histologists, high end equipment in histology and cytology, computer assisted cytology, all new processors, stainers and cyostats. Additionally, we have interfaced slide and block printers and an extensive menu of IHC stains. We utilize the Epic Beaker information system with patient safety features and Dragon voice recognition. You’ll focus mainly on surgical pathology with 8,434 surgical cases per year and 4,700 cytology cases per year. Call is shared amongst four pathologists.
Our laboratory has a culture of teamwork and encourages open communication and suggestions from all partners. The pathologists work collaboratively with lab partners, and are active in clinical pathology in addition to anatomic pathology. The pathologists have close working relationship with the clinicians.
