The DPI Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH) is currently seeking applicants for a school-year, 9-month (.88 FTE) Social Worker for the WI School for the Deaf (WSD). WSD operates a residential school for children ages three to twenty-one with deafness and/or hard of hearing. The school provides academic and career education on site. The school also offers instructional and technical assistance, teaching materials and evaluations of pupils to local school districts and other agencies. This position will be located at WSD, 309 W. Position Summary: This position will provide necessary social work services, as well as a variety of other services with and for the students, staff, parents and school at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf.
Special Notes: This position works Sunday through Thursday, 2nd shift.
The selection process for this position will include a criminal background check.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DPI sponsorship). The Department of Public Instruction does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
Qualifications: A minimally qualified candidate must have licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker (50) with the State of Wisconsin as per licensing requirements outlined by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services. An ASLPI rating of 2+ is required upon hire and a 3 by the end of probation.
