You will be proud.POSITION SUMMARY:The Production Scheduler will be responsible for performing the production scheduling for one or more facilities.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Instrumental in collaborating with all levels of the company to plan, set, and support a Sales and Operations Production plan2.Perform the production scheduling to maximize on-time delivery, productivity, inventory turns, gross profit, etc; utilize level loading practices for production lines by using plant loading tools and lean methodology3.Establish commitment (promise ship) dates for scheduled sales orders4.Works directly with manufacturing to support customer on-time delivery5.Will work with the sales department and Corporate Master scheduling to set long term production schedules and commitments for high volume orders6.Communicates with respective departments on any schedule changes that will adversely affect overall schedule execution or customer expectation7.Works directly with the Materials management team and fellow associates to ensure that raw materials and customer supplied items are available to support the production scheduleEXPERTISE REQUIRED: BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
Strong understanding of production scheduling in a make-to-order environment with 5+ years scheduling experience.
Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems. Experience with JDE/Oracle a plus.
The ability to adapt in a very fluid and cyclical environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
Strong user of Microsoft Office tools, with an emphasis on Excel.
Minimal travel may be required for training.
APICS CPIM certification a plus.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.
May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
